NARRAVATE BY EXCELLENTIAL

Narravate (NAR-uh-vayt): real decisions, experienced live

Case-based experiential learning: step inside real decisions

In a live 60 to 90-minute session, participants experience a visual case through the eyes of the people in it. They pause before the outcome, decide what they would do and why, and leave with one action to try.

Choose Leadership, Culture, or Origins for your audience.

A facilitator narrates a real moment live. Each participant leaves with one action to try at work, school or college.

KNOW THE DIFFERENCE

How a visual case differs from a training video or a storytelling session

All three use pictures and narrative. What the learner does with them is different.

ContentSteps, rules or a scripted scene

The learnerUsually watches independently; discussion can be added

Leaves withAn explanation or demonstration to apply

Storytelling session

NARRAVATE

🛈 Each format has its place. Videos suit procedures and compliance. Storytelling can support reflection and learning. A visual case suits judgement and behaviour, where people need to practise the decision itself.

THE METHOD

Built on how adults learn: Experience, Reflect, Discuss, Apply

Participants can connect the case to a problem they recognise and practise explaining a choice. Every Narravate session follows four steps, with one focus per session. Every session runs 60 to 90 minutes.

  1. Experience

The group watches the case, reaches the decision point and commits to a choice.

  2. Reflect

The facilitator links the case to the group's own work, school or college.

  3. Discuss

People compare choices, challenge each other's reasons and draw out the principle.

  4. Apply

Each person names one thing to do differently, starting this week.

THINKING SKILLS: THE NEW-AGE SKILLS

Developing human skills in the age of AI

As AI takes on more routine work, thinking skills matter more. These include judging evidence, deciding under pressure and working well with people. The World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2025 names analytical thinking as the top core skill for employers. Seven out of 10 companies consider it essential. Resilience, flexibility and agility follow, along with leadership and social influence.

INSIDE A LIVE SESSION

What a live Narravate session looks like

Every session runs live on Microsoft Teams. A narrator tells the case and pauses at the decision. The whole group votes and debates before anyone sees the outcome.

Frequently asked questions

What is Narravate?

Narravate is Excellential’s visual case programme. Seasoned narrators, certified narration professionals and industry experts narrate a real event or workplace situation live. The case pauses at the moment someone had to decide. Participants choose what they would do, see what followed and agree one action. It comes as three programmes: Leadership, Culture and Origins.

A visual case study shows a real situation through images and short video instead of a written page. It stops at a decision point. Learners choose a response before they see the outcome, then discuss it with a facilitator. The case becomes something the group experiences together, not something each person reads alone.

Case-based learning teaches through real situations rather than lectures. Learners study what happened, weigh the options and defend a choice. Business schools have taught this way for many decades. In problem-based learning, learners start with an open problem and research their own route to a solution. Narravate uses a real case, paused at the decision.

Adults learn best when they see why a topic matters and can link it to their own work. They prefer solving real problems to memorising theory, and they need time to reflect and practise. Narravate follows four steps: Experience, Reflect, Discuss and Apply. Excellential then measures each session with the Kirkpatrick model.

Behavioural training works on how people act at work. Examples include giving feedback, owning a mistake and working across teams. Business results depend on many of these everyday decisions. Training helps when it targets one specific behaviour and managers support it afterwards. Start by agreeing which behaviour matters most to your business goal.

HR cannot instruct a new behaviour into place. People change when they see their own habit clearly and choose differently. Pick one behaviour that matters to the business. Give people a real decision to practise, with peers. Ask each person for one visible step, then follow up after 30 days. Narravate is built around these steps.

No. Narravate does not teach people to tell stories. Each case starts from documented events and recorded figures, or from a real workplace situation with names changed. Participants examine a decision and its consequences. If storytelling as a communication skill is your goal, Excellential’s Business Communication Training is the better place to start.

Choose Leadership when one manager behaviour keeps repeating, such as postponed feedback. Choose Culture when employees read a company value differently across teams or locations. Choose Origins for university and college students, or Grade 10 to 12 students, building thinking skills. A free consultation helps when the need sits across more than one.

Every session runs 60 to 90 minutes on Microsoft Teams and works on one behaviour, value or skill. The format keeps people involved. Everyone votes at the decision point, writes in the chat and hears peers defend other choices. A whole class can also join from one screen in a lecture hall.

Seasoned narrators, certified narration professionals and industry experts narrate every session live. They can pause wherever the group needs more discussion. Excellential recreates events and cases using licensed generative AI, under human direction. A person checks every scene against the documented facts or the agreed brief. AI never narrates a case, and the full capsule is never published online.

Excellential measures every learning intervention using the Kirkpatrick model. Participants share feedback on the session at the end (Level 1) and note what stayed with them (Level 2). After 30 days, they record what they have changed or are changing (Level 3). That shows the job applicability of skills and where follow-up is needed.

Yes. HR and L&D leaders can join a free live demo every Friday at 11:30 AM IST on Microsoft Teams. You take part as a participant and reach the decision point. Register on this page, and the Teams link reaches you by email. Universities and schools can book a free demo for their management team on the Origins page.

Narravate comes in three formats: a Single Capsule, a Capsule Series and a Custom Visual Case. A custom case takes two working weeks to build. The fee also depends on group size and any follow-up. Excellential agrees these in a free consultation and shares a written proposal before you book.

Which decision should your people practise first?

Disclaimer: Narravate cases are built for learning and discussion. Each real-world case draws on public, documented sources, which Excellential researches in depth before designing the visuals. Events and cases are recreated using licensed generative AI, under human direction. They show reconstructions, not footage of the events. Company and brand names belong to their owners. Their use does not imply any endorsement of, or connection with, Excellential.
